  • The purpose of this scholarship is to provide aid to high school students entering a community college, university or a trade school.

    Requirements: The scholarships will be awarded to candidates who intend to enroll full-time in an accredited community college, university or trade school, and who reside in Northern California, and minimum 3.0 GPA.

    The winners shall receive a one-time $2500 scholarship upon proof of enrollment to an accredited institution. Payment will be made directly to the institution.

    Submission Deadline: August 4th 2025

    Applicants will be required to submit:

    • The completed scholarship application

    • Two letters of recommendation from a non-related instructor, principal, counselor or supervisor

    • Official school transcript

    • College or trade acceptance letter

    • An essay, not to exceed 500-words

      • The essay topic for the 2024 scholarship is:
        WHAT DOES LABOR MEAN TO YOU; WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF LABOR IN OUR LIVES TODAY

        • The essay topic must appear at the beginning of the essay.

      • Essays must be submitted on an 8 1⁄2 x 11 paper, singled sided and double spaced.

      • The applicant's written signature must appear at the conclusion of the essay.

    • Submissions must be postmarked no later than July 29, 2024.

    Scholarship winners and their families will be invited to attend the CBTU-NCC Scholarship Awards Gala to read their essays. The Gala will be held in February 2025. Awardees shall receive a certificate or plaque to commemorate their achievement.
